Magic Wizard Wands – inspired by the fantasy movies, books and video games. My nephew in Michigan is a huge fan of the Harry Potter TM series. Three years ago, when he spent a week during his summer vacation, we turned a wizard wand together in my workshop. We had a blast!
Breaking News -- I have been chosen as a local demonstrator for the Yankee Woodturning Symposium, June 1-3, 2007 on the campus of Wesleyan University, where I will be showing woodturning enthusiasts how to make their own Magic Wizard Wand. For more information, check out the web page at http://www.yankeewoodturningsymposium.org/
These are constructed as a two-part mortise and tenon joint. The handle portion is an exotic wood and the wand portion is rock maple. Each wand is unique and will vary slightly in length, but is usually between 10" and 12" in total length.
